GIBBS DROPPED 1999 WORLD CUP
People call South Africans with a tag of CHOKERS.Too many experts believe that GIBBS can be given a full credit to what they are being called now.It was a super six match between Australia and South Africa in 1999 world cup where the Australians on 152/3 were chasing a target of 272 with Steve Waugh in,all of a sudden an easy catch was dropped out of GIBBS hand with an excitement of celebrating the wicket.Eventually Steve guided them to a victory in last over of their innings. The result of this match had changed the course of direction of South African team to leave out of the tournament when they tied a match with Aussies in the Semi final.

There are few combinations which always create a buzz in the cricket fans for something more than a cricket. Few Batsman's wicket is very important at their start namely SEHWAG,GILCHRIST and GAYLE etc...Whenever these sort of Batsman gets going with runs, they forget the word of mercy in their way of attacking every bowler.The same thing happened on Final of 2007 world cup, where GILCHRIST took on Lankan Bowlers with unbeaten 149 runs of 104 Balls making their team total to 281 in 38 overs in a rain hit game.

2003 WORLD CUP- PONTING BLASTS DADAGIRI
Indians made into WORLD CUP Finals after a long gap of 20 years.Every inch in India had felt that vibrations. Ganguly was to be complimented for the change of phase in INDIAN CRICKET by making a way for many youngsters like HARBHAJAN,YUVRAJ,KAIF,SEHWAG, and ZAHEER to reach the final. Dada won the toss and choose to field from bowlers perception with the drizzling the ground had the previous night before the Final.When everything was set to final,the poor start given by Zaheer helped the Aussies get the control from the very first over.Damien Martyn and RIcky Ponting proved their ability to chase the boundary every over. Ponting made it more tough for the indian bowlers making his total to 140 which ended their innings to post a target of 360.
Sachin was the most consistent performer in 2003 world cup, as people say High Expectations would lead to Failure,it's proven right,his was caught and bowled by Mcgrath silenced the whole country,for some time Sehwag tried to take his role but had to return pavilion with a wrong call for run.People praying to the clouds when there were no stars born out of out bats which seemed to be ridiculous for a moment.but finally we have to take it easy as even the GOD OF CRICKET had taken it easy.

Sri lanka,A country which was hard to find on map made its presence felt on every news paper that day.Arvinda Desilva Sanath Jayasurya and Arjuna Ranatunga the trio caught the attention of the world with their stunning performances when the sitaution demanded.Sanath jayasurya taught the world how to hit the ball from the first ball.
Srilanka had to fight against Australia in their final to chase 241,Arvinda desilva led the batting from the front with unbeaten 107 runs not out to grab the first worldcup.
